We ordered from the early bird menu, which offered great value. The food portions were generous, and the staff worked hard to ensure that our meals arrived quickly and were cleared away promptly. I had the moussaka, which was quite different from what I usually find at other Greek restaurants. It wasn’t served with the typical sauce and had a distinct flavor, but I still enjoyed it. The chicken spinach dish that my friend ordered looked appealing, and she liked it as well.

You will find this excellent taverna nestled between the Northway Road and the Leeds-Liverpool canal. The atmosphere is lively and positive; the service friendly and efficient; and the food tasty and plentiful. The Taverna offers a good choice of traditional Greek cuisine at fair prices. The portions are large with the main dishes all coming with vegetables, salads, rice and chunky chips. At my recent visit I shared a special mixed kebab for 2, but there was easily enough on the plate for a 3rd person! It was delicious and went down well with a cold Mythos beer! There is a wide choice of places to eat in Maghull, but the Greek Taverna is always busy. Given its popularity I would suggest ringing ahead to book a table.
10 of us visited on a busy Friday night, although very busy service was excellent. Food was fantastic, could not fault a thing, all correct, hot and delicious. If anything there was too much food (chips) each meal comes with a separate tray of chunky chips. The kids had room for desserts and they got polished off too x lovely, busy, friendly and great value. Would definitely go back. No need for Gordon Ramsey here
Drove up from Gloucestershire for my Nans 90th Birthday Celebration and my son’s 13th Birthday Celebrations. The food was so delicious and plentiful and the service was outstanding. I shall definitely be returning and have no hesitation in highly recommending this restaurant. A Hugh thank you to all the staff for making it a night to remember. THANK YOU
